What I Learned from the Workshop of Today

I attended 10 nen kensyuu (teaching workshop) today. There were some good methods about teaching in real situation, so I would like to introduce some of it.

“How do you help the students who are not good at English in task based learning?”
→Teacher tell students the contents of next class ahead of time so that they can prepare for it.

→Each students bring their dictionary.

→Learn in the group like MMCE( If you are not familiar with MMCE, please see the blogs)

→Show clear examples on black board ( Ex. Blanks in the sentence)

→If you know who is not good at English, you can concentrate on the students.(Ex. First of the class, approach and help them do task actively.

“Please praise students soon when they make good efforts, so they became very happy!!”
(Try it in teaching training☆)The teacher said and it was very impressive for me.

The workshop was very good learning for me, so thank you English teachers and the class mate!

How to be a Successful English Teacher at Jr. High School

From the lecture of Mr.Maruhashi, the work as a teacher is to change student and it is important to consider unchangeable things and trend.
Next, I would like to tell my opinion. I think a Successful English Teacher at Jr. High School needs consciousness. One is ‘I am teacher.’ If we be conscious it, we realize or notice what we need. For example, some may think that they need more study and practice of English and other may think that they need more skill of communication with students. This is depends on their personality or something. Second is to find problems all the time. I think teacher can improve their teaching by the consciousness, but we should not forget to contact with students having smile, consideration, and sometimes strictness on the other side. This opinion comes from the meeting of teachers who graduated from this English class this year. I was very surprised that they are already found their problems in their class, and I think that is why they seemed real and nice teachers.
Those seem difficult, but this could help us to be a Successful English Teacher at Jr. High School.

The Reflection of Micro Teaching

In the last class, I did micro teaching and felt the difficulties of teaching more than ever.There were mainly two difficulties that I felt.

First, I could not speak well in English and did not speak English so much. It is difficult for me to teach English in English, but it is good for students to learn English in that way.Should I use English in the class or how much can I use it?How do you felt in the last class as a student and think?
Second,I am shy and got nervous in class,so I could not say the instructions with loud voice and clearly.I am sorry about it and thank cooperative students for help.Also I regret that I could not smile and communicate with students well.

In Interview activity by kiki, by the way, I was impressed that the teacher was always smiling and cheerful. I think it is important thing for teacher. Also, in Karuta by pizza,the teacher always moved and helped students understand the rules and so on. In Using movement by Emiko, there were a lot of funny things and laughter.Every student enjoyed and carefully listened to the English other students said. I think it is effective in hearing English.

Anyway, there were many good points in these micro teaching. I want to learn, use it and improve my skill of class.

How can I improve the typical communicative activities?

1,Information Gap
How? Connect with international understanding
Aim To understand the difference of culture and living style
(Also, it will lead the motive of students for the study.)

Ex. Time difference, food, popular sports and so on.

2,Using movement

How? Connect with message and communicate game in a group
Aim To hear another person of English. If things go well, ask and correct each other in the group cooperation (Also, I hope it goes freely and actively!)
Ex. In one group, one student goes and gets information. The student act as the information shows. The other members of the group guess the information. They can speak only English. If someone says correct answer, the team can other member go and get the next information.

What is important to me?

Hello!Did you enjoy your 'Golden Week 'holidays?I went Takamatu pond for a cherry blossom party ,returned home and played with some friends.I had very nice time.

Anyway, I would like to tell you about my important things in this time.
There are the three things that I think it is important to me.

First,it is people.For example my family,friends or some neighbor.Relief,enjoyment,sorrow,angry or happy,these feelings come from interaction or communication between people,so it makes me like me.

Second,it is learning.People can learn various things from many things.Friends,family,teachers and other people are all teacher in life.They give me meaningful advice.Also newspapers, book
or Internet help us learn many things. Moreover nature is good teacher.It makes us remember that we are the member of living things on this earth.From such leanings,I can be more interested in society or life.

Finally,in my opinion,having fun is most important to me.Not to speaking of ,we can enjoy chat,playing sports or something,but we sometimes do not feel like to do something that we have to do or must do it.For example study,work or something.In such cases, however,I think it is important that doing one's best and enjoy it.

2007English Teaching Methodology Class

My Story of Studying English in Secondary School

There were so many and various English teachers I have met in secondary school. Most of teachers were unique and rich in experience in other world. Therefore, each English class was also unique and interesting, so I enjoyed study it and could go on with study it. Considered that point, my score of learning of English experience is probably about 75.
Next I would like to state my opinion about my studying English experience on some points.
First, my most enjoyable language learning experience was role playing, because I did not feel studying subject, but felt studying what really useful. On the other, examinations were least enjoyable, because it were only out put. We could study for it, but could not learn something from it.
Second, I think most valuable learning was the ways of studying English. For example, recitation, dictation and reading text book aloud. At beginning of study language, I have not known the way. While it was valuable, studying only one thing was not so much valuable, because studying English needs many elements, so imbalanced studying can not make the best use of its time and effort.
In conclusion, I want to teach English so that students would be interested and excited it, but the class must be not only consists of those, but also include meaningful things.
